I think having personal resources is the linchpin of survival and quality of life. Anything you want to do, you can do it, if you have the resources.

Be ready for whatever, but live well. THIS is your life, right now, this moment.

Think about the laws of nature. Notice nature is not fuzzy, bright, or kind. Nature, when you're living it, is harsh, impersonal, and amoral.

So is this world. Seeking survival in this world is not a white hat endeavor, by definition. Major example: Jesus was not concerned with surviving this world, not at all. The truly good never are. Survival is always just a temporary thing, anyway. Keep that in mind.

Most people come in shades of gray and their practice of survival is the same. But it's good to be aware of real black hat survival, whether you would touch it or not. It's how this world works.

My personal boundary is never to cause harm to others through any intentional practice. If causing harm doesn't bite your on the butt in this life, it certainly will in the next.
